How would you describe your style?
There are so many different buzzwords out there in wedding photography – from photojournalistic, traditional, contemporary or fashion. My style is really a unique hybrid as inspiration comes from so many different places – both internal and from the world around. I love the raw emotion of photojournalism but also the colorful softness of nature.
I will never interrupt a moment as it unfolds. I will document it – staying true to the moment. After all, why pose situations that are already so magical on their own! I am an observer most of the time and facilitate, rarely, only when needed.
Love candid photography but do you do formal portraits?
Yes, most couples like to have portraits done at their wedding as they are records of the entire family at an important time in their history together. While I take family portraits it is not done in a traditional way. Instead, things are very loose, fun, and show off your personality. Rather than a posed line with everyone smiling real big for the camera, it’s more about the interaction between you and the real emotion you are feeling at the moment.
To make the time we spend go smoothly and quickly I will give you a portrait list prior to your wedding that will help guide me to make sure I know all the people and groups you would like to have images of. My hope is that your time spent capturing these images with your family and friends is a wonderful part of your wedding day and doesn’t take you away from the fun but, instead, makes all kind of fun of it’s own!
Do you travel for weddings?
Yes, yes, yes! I LOVE to travel and have been to incredible destinations in Europe, the Caribbean and the States. Whether you will be a few hours away or a continent or two, I am game for anything. Please contact me directly to talk more about your wedding details…
Do you shoot film or digital? Color or black and white?
While I am well versed in film photography, I do shoot all weddings digitally as I want to make sure I am capturing all the details and events of your day. All images are captured in color but I create gorgeous black and white, vintage and other fun, artistic touches to your final images.
When I present your gallery to you, your images will all be edited and retouched. I will process an image as I see it – converting it to black and white or other styles. However, I keep all originals ready to go, so if you see an image, love it and want it in a different finish, just let me know and I can do that for you.
Do you offer wedding packages?
Your wedding images are an investment you will keep and enjoy for many, many years to come. Deciding on just what you would like for coverage can sometimes be confusing with all the options out there. My wedding collections are simple, straighforward and range from basic coverage to collections including exquisite custom designed handmade albums by Cypress Albums and Signature Albums by Millers Lab.
My collections can also be further customized to fit just what you are looking for. Please contact me for detailed wedding collection information or to schedule a personal consultation.
Do we get a copy of the images?
Yes, all collections come with the high-resolution digital files (digital negatives). I do retain the copyright to the images and the right to use them for promotional purposes, marketing, publication and competitions. You will get a written release that will allow you to make unlimited personal reproductions and enjoy the images how you would like.
Are you the only photographer?
I am the primary photographer however I always have a second professional photographer with me for most weddings.
We love you, we must have you for our wedding day! How do we go about that?
That’s fantastic and I would love to share in your wedding day! The first step is to create a contract and place a retainer to hold the date. Unfortunately I am not able to hold a date without this. While I love to meet with you in person, I understand this is not always easy when you are planning your wedding from distant locations. So, we can always put together your contract via phone, email…whatever is most convenient for you. Once we have a signed contract along with a $750 retainer I am all yours! The balance is not due until the day of your wedding.
